is currently supported on Red Hat Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise

Linux distributions are closely related and might be able to run SQL Server. If you choose to
install SQL Server on an unsupported operating system, review the

implications. Also note that some community-maintained Linux distributions don’t have a
formal way to receive support if the underlying operating system is the problem.
The core Database Engine for SQL Server is the same on Linux as it is on Windows. However,
